“I realized my platform could empower women, especially Brown women, to feel seen and confident in their skin,” she explains.
As a first-generation immigrant, Cynthia has faced bullying related to her culture and appearance. These experiences fueled her commitment to anti-bullying and body positivity. “It’s about the other person’s insecurities, not about you,” she advises those facing similar challenges. Cynthia proudly showcases her Sri Lankan heritage through cultural events and traditional attire. She aims to educate others about her roots and promote diversity. “I want to inspire both Sri Lankans and those outside our community to embrace and celebrate their heritage.”
Beyond beauty and culture, Cynthia is passionate about education. She supports initiatives in her local Sri Lankan community and in Sri Lanka itself, helping to ensure teachers are compensated fairly. “Monetary support can make a significant difference,” she notes.
Currently studying technology at Rutgers University, Cynthia balances academics with her advocacy. She envisions a more inclusive education system in the U.S., advocating for smaller classrooms, better resources for children with learning disabilities, and improved teacher pay. Cynthia is also dedicated to preserving the Tamil language, initiating a “Tamil Word of the Day” series to promote cultural pride. “Language is a key part of identity, and I want to help others connect with our heritage,” she emphasizes.
In her personal life, Cynthia enjoys yoga, hiking, and trying new foods, incorporating these passions into her content creation. “Social media is a platform to share my life, and I believe we don’t have to stick to one niche,” she shares.
Driven by the desire to create content she wished she had seen as a young girl, Cynthia continues to inspire positive change. Looking ahead, she is focused on enjoying her twenties while laying the groundwork for a lasting career. “I’m excited for what’s to come,” she says.
Cynthia Victor’s journey exemplifies the power of authenticity, resilience, and community engagement, inspiring countless others along the way.
