Growing up, Spaeder's creative spirit found expression in various forms, from crafting stop-motion films with her stuffed animals to captivating her family with impromptu performances. "I just was always doing it," Spaeder recalls. "I don't remember a world where I wasn't immersed in creative pursuits." This innate passion for storytelling laid the foundation for her future endeavors. Transitioning seamlessly between acting and music, Spaeder finds joy in blending her two passions. "I really love both," she shares. "When I get to blend both of them together, it feels like such a magical moment." This fusion is exemplified in her recent project, "The Noise," a poignant short film she wrote, produced, and starred in. Drawing from her personal experience with an eating disorder, Spaeder crafted a compelling narrative that resonates with authenticity and vulnerability.

Reflecting on the creative process behind "The Noise," Spaeder emphasizes the importance of authenticity and self-awareness. "I waited until I got to a place where I could acknowledge that [the struggles depicted in the film] were terrible," she explains. "I wanted to get to a place where I could have that be the villain of the story." The result is a raw and introspective exploration of mental health that has resonated deeply with audiences.

Beyond her artistic pursuits, Spaeder is a vocal advocate for causes close to her heart, including eating disorder awareness and LGBTQ+ rights. She emphasizes the significance of normalizing diverse narratives in the media. "The best way to advocate is just normalizing it," Spaeder asserts. "Showing great examples [of LGBTQ+ representation]... and not just having every story be about a dramatic coming out."

"I think it's important to redefine our definition of success," she shares. "Just getting out of bed and having a good day or a bad day but then moving on from it is a success."

Looking ahead, Spaeder's forthcoming EP, "Fall at My Feet," promises to captivate audiences with its blend of introspective lyricism and captivating melodies. Inspired by a poignant lyric from her song "Serious," the title encapsulates the duality of vulnerability and strength that defines Spaeder's artistic vision.

In an industry often defined by glamour and spectacle, Jillian Shea Spaeder stands out as a beacon of authenticity and creativity. From her compelling performances to her unwavering advocacy, Spaeder's artistry transcends boundaries, inspiring audiences to embrace their true selves and champion meaningful change.
