You got your start as a dancer, discovered your psychic abilities and then started on YouTube, but what age would you say the music bug hit you?
When I was about twelve, I just started singing and I thought I had a good sound. I never took lessons or anything, and I had a lot of people telling me “Oh, you’re not going to be a singer. So I stopped for a little while. Once I got into high school I just couldn’t stop singing, I was singing in the car, the garage, pretty much anywhere. I just really felt I had a calling for it.
One thing we love about new artists is their journey of finding their unique sound and style, both sonically and visually. Can you describe your music sound? Do you want to experiment with genres as you’re growing your musical catalog?
I haven’t found my sound yet. Right now, I’m focusing on just really expanding my range, and open to seeing where that takes me. I think I’ll find it eventually. But I’m still trying to figure that part out. I’m new to music, but it’s been so interesting to learn and to be able to work with different artists who introduce me to different styles. I’m just trying to see what really fits me. I think my new song September 10th is definitely a big step for me in finding my voice because it does show a lot more of my range than some of my other songs.
Your visuals and videos are always so fun and captivating, September 10th in a way taps into the supernatural, which brings out your already widely known capability. So what was that process like when you got the video formula for that? Were you excited? Were you scared?
I worked with Kyra Gardner on the video. She’s a good friend of mine who’s also into spooky stuff. Her dad Tony Gardner makes all the Chucky dolls for the films, and he’s the puppeteer, so he’s all into the horror aspect of things. She was really into my content, and I was really into hers. So we got together and we created the video. I had this vision in my head of what I wanted the video to be like, and we just kind of went off of that. Kyra put her own creative aspects into it along with mine, and then we had a visual effects artist that came in named Gabriel who just did a phenomenal job on all the visual effects you see in the video. She just made it all come together so intensely. It’s all about energy, that energy you feel that can be so dark. Demonic entities and things that people are scared of are just pure dark energy. I believe that when we are in that state of mind, we’re very vulnerable to spiritual attacks in that way. The video emphasizes that and it tries to show that it’s important to fight past the darkness to find your power, because in the end, we’re all so powerful. We don’t even realize how powerful we are as humans.
