Nigerian Girls Killing It: Tem Wins Her First Grammy

Tems, 27, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, has been praised by fellow artists for her vocal talent since she stepped on the scene. Music fans along with Top Nigerian artists have joined from across the world to congratulate singer Tems on winning a Grammy award. The "Lift Me Up" writer who featured alongside Drake on Future’s ‘Wait for You’ took home the award for  Best Rap Melodic Performance. The song was also nominated for the Best Rap Song award.

Tems now joins Sade Adu, the Nigerian-British singer as the female artists who have taken home the Grammy. Sade took home the Grammy Award in 1986 when she emerged as the winner of the Best New Artist award.
